BET Awards '09: Fashion Review

Best Dressed.

Keri Hilson in a black figure-flattering mini with colorful, bold designs. Keri made many worst dressed lists, but she made my best. Her dress is very different and fun.
LeToya Luckett. Simply divine.
Tyra Banks looking fierce as usual.
Singer Amerie. This dress is classic and beautiful and the shoes add just the right kick.
Alicia Keys showed off her wonderful legs in this green, embellished, long sleeved mini.

Ouccchhh, Worst Dressed of the Evening.

Cassie, this ensemble is very strange.
Meagan Good wears a very unflattering blue dress with a cropped top and black shoes.
Star Trek star Zoe Saldana looks like a poor, dysfunctional jungle girl.
Lil' Mama could have used her unique style to express herself differently than this.
Naturi Naughton, amazing job playing Lil' Kim, but you failed at this ensemble.

Get The Look: Lady Gaga Bow

Madison from Kentucky:
How Madison got this look:
"I pulled half of my hair up into a ponytail on the side of my head,
then split it in half.
Then I made a loop with each half,
pinning them in the front and leaving a bit
(you should have plenty)
to take to the back.
Once you've pinned the loops,
take the excess and wrap them to the back and pin.
Then, take the loops and pin the hair down to make it look more solid."

Thank you Madison for your submission!

She's Bad?

Don't be afraid to express yourself in these rocker, punk style gloves. These 80's style gloves have been around for a while and are making a huge comeback this fall. They have function & style. Perfect to keep your hands warm & use your fingers on your phone or iPod at the same time. When worn with the right oufit they look hot. Check out Kim K trying them on.

Heidi's Princess 'Bling Bling' Wedding

Okay,
I know I'm a little late on this, but this is something I've been meaning to talk about.
So how tacky is it to have a 'bling bling' wedding?
The dress was absolutely beautiful...
But it looks like she randomly threw on a whole bunch of bling...
Complete overkill.
And the hair...
Neater, soft curls would have done better for her.
A wedding ensemble should be classical and timeless.
Looking back on this, she'd see a young, 'new money', LA girl.

AND did you know that Heidi and Spencer make 65k each PER EPISODE?
(Sorry I had to add this in here)
What kind of bull!@#$ is that?
Doctors who have slaved away at college for 8 years don't even make that much.
And all Speidi does is sit around, gossip and fight and they get 65k for a stupid 1/2 hour episode?
There is truly something wrong with America.

Lauren actually admitted during an interview that the show isn't all 'reality'.
She wasn't really on the other line when Spencer made that apology call.
She never received an apology from him.
I found that pretty shocking.

So anyway...
WDYT about Heidi's look?
Tacky Or Classy?

I thought I would share with you my favorite sites that I like to go on when I'm at home relaxing.

1. polyvore.com: If you love fashion and art this site sooo much fun. You can use it to shop almost any store, and make outfits with what you find. It's also fun for making collages, and expressing yourself.

2. gURL.com: I've been a member of this site for about 4 years. It has information about everything from body image to dating. It also has games, quizzes and message boards where you can connect with people from all around the world and talk about any and everything.

3. picnik.com: On this site you can upload your pics, and edit them by adding text, graphics and much more. I love this because I don't have any photo editing software on my computer... and it's free!

4. ivillage.com: The beauty and style section of this site has a free virtual makeover. Upload a picture of yourself and you can pick out different makeup and hairstyles and see how they look on you.

Jelly Flats: Trend Do or Don't?

I am a little embarrassed to say how much I want these shoes. Every time I see then in Forever 21 they just look so irresistible. I'm just deeply afraid that they're a terrible trend and people will laugh, like "what the hell are on her feet?" I asked my friends what they thought and they're reactions were pretty much "ummm... NO." But I'm still debating whether I should purchase them. I think they would look cute with a pair of tights and a neutral colored top. These are actually the knock offs. Chanel has them for about $300. What do you guys think? Are jellies a trend do or don't?

Fashion Icon

Lauren Conrad.

I don't know about you, but I think LC always looks fabulous. Her style is classical and simple, and she still has that glam factor. What do you think of her style?

I'm trying to imitate her style a little bit. And I love how she wears the braids on the side of her hair!

LC at Speidi's wedding. I didn't think she'd show up, but she looked great when she finally did! Oh and Heidi looked absolutely terrible... but that's a different topic. I swear I have those exact sunglasses. And I want that bag!!

Love, love, love the dress... the belt is an excellent way to add shape or change up a summer dress. The side pony completes the chic look.

Very simple. LC outside of a Los Angeles club.

This dress is amazing. It gives her just the right curves and I just love the print and colors.

The high wasted, red skirt is wonderful. A skirt like that is definitely the next addition to my wardrobe. I really like the natural looking wavy hair.
